Sessions named director of Alabama Articulation Program
Keith W. Sessions has been named Executive Director of the Alabama Articulation Program, a state agency operated by Troy State University, according to Dr. Ed Roach, TSU Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
As Director of Articulation, Sessions will oversee the Statewide Articulation Reporting System (STARS), which is a computerized articulation and transfer planning system designed to inform students who attend Alabama’s two-year colleges about degree requirements, course equivalents and other transfer information for Alabama’s public universities.
Sessions, a native of Enterprise, currently serves as Coordinator of Academic Degree Program Inventory at Auburn University, where he is completing requirements for a doctorate of education.
“In the short time that Keith Sessions has been at Auburn, he has made a difference,” said Dr. Linda Glaze, Associate Provost for Academic Affairs at Auburn University and Chair of the Alabama Articulation and General Studies Committee (AGSC). “Obviously, as his supervisor, I am sorry to see him leave, but as Chair of the Articulation and General Studies Committee, I am looking forward to working with him next year. I am sure that his initiative and dedication will be an asset to both the AGSC and STARS.”
Sessions served as assistant director of the Alabama Articulation Program from 1994-2001. He has served on the Alabama Articulation and General Studies Committee.
“We are extremely pleased that Keith Sessions is returning to Troy to direct this important program that serves every public college and university in this state,” Dr. Roach said. “He was involved with the program from its inception and will do an outstanding job.”
Sessions also served as Director of Distance Education at Southern Union State Community College from 2001-2002. He received an associate’s degree from Enterprise State Junior College, his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Alabama.
