March 27, 2003 Carr, Nailen named to TSU Foundation Board of Directors The Troy State University Foundation has added two Wiregrass-area businessmen, William H. Carr of Enterprise and C. Charles Nailen Jr. of Dothan, to its board of directors, according to Dr. Jean Laliberte, Vice President for Advancement. Carr serves as managing partner for the regional accounting firm of Carr, Riggs and Ingram. Nailen owns seven Taco Bell and 30 KFC restaurants in southeast Alabama, northwest Florida and southwest Georgia. “We are delighted to have two business owners with the experience and insight of Bill Carr and Charles Nailen join our foundation,” Dr. Laliberte said. “They are committed to serving Troy State University through the TSU Foundation and we welcome their support.” The TSU Foundation is a permanent, non-profit organization created to attract private support for the university. It is governed by a self-perpetuating board of directors. Carr has more than 30 years experience in accounting and consulting services. His professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves on the board of directors for Community Bank and Trust, Regions Bank in Panama City, Fla., and Compass Bank in Montgomery. He is a member of the Business Advisory Council for Troy State University. Nailen, a native of Birmingham, has served as a member of the Community Advisory Board for Troy State University Dothan and as Chairman of the TSUD Capital Campaign from 1996-2000. He has been and active member of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, serving as past chairman and board member of the Dothan By Design Economic Development Partnership. He is also chairman of the Friends and Fort Rucker Task Force, a member of the Dothan-Houston County Airport Authority and a member and past president of the Dothan Kiwanis Club. of Enterprise, June Arn of Brundidge, Patricia Barnes and Terry Butts of Luverne,
Mickey Crew of Opp, Kenneth Campbell, Sherrill Crowe, Ken Hendricks and Walter
Hennigan of Troy, Ron Drinkard, Larry Hughes, Harrel McKinney and Ronnie Poole
of Montgomery, Roy Drinkard of Cullman and Earl Johnson of Andalusia. In addition,
the following members of the TSU administration are also members of the board:
Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor; Dr. Cam Martindale, Vice Chancellor for Advancement
and President of Troy State University Montgomery; Clint Carlson, Vice President
