dancers to compete in national finals April 3-5 The Troy State University Dance Line is going to the beach next week, but not for a vacation. The TSU Dancers are one of just 16 dance teams from universities across the United States to receive a bid to compete in the National Dance Alliance (NDA) finals April 3-5. “We’re very excited,” Director Lisa Nonnemann said. “This team has worked very hard and they’re going to do well in Daytona.” The team earned the national bid following a stellar performance last September in an NDA competition at Myrtle Beach, S.C. Nonnemann said the group has a new routine they’ve developed strictly for the national competition, and professional choreographer Ashley Duncan of Montgomery helped develop the routine. The Dance Line performs during football and basketball games and other campus athletic events as a corps of the “Sound of the South” Marching Band. The members of the Dance Line are Heather Dantzler of Brewton, captain; Erin Turner of Birmingham, Amanda Webb of Scottsboro, Lindsey Johnson of Luverne, Dwan Christian of Mobile and Jenna Carlson and Amanda Ginn of Enterprise. |
