   Two-person art exhibition at TSU March 10 - April 11

   Two Birmingham artists will display their artwork in Malone Gallery at Troy State University March 10 - April 11.
   The two artists, Darius Hill, Chair of Visual Arts at the Alabama School of Fine Arts, and Jim Neel, Sculpture professor at Birmingham Southern College, will present two-dimensional and three-dimensional drawings, paintings and sculpture.
   The exhibition opens Monday, March 10 at 4:30 p.m. with a reception and will be open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday until April 11. This exhibition is open to everyone.
   Hill is a 1985 graduate of ASFA and is a 1992 graduate of the Atlanta College of Art with a bachelor’s degree in printmaking. His art exhibitions throughout the southeast include New Vision Gallery, Atlanta; the University of Montevallo and the Cross Roads Initiative, New Orleans. Hill’s work is represented in many corporate and private collections throughout the United States. He has won many honors and awards including the 1992 Frances Hook Scholarship Award and the Best in Show Award at the Magic City Art Connection 1991. Hill was recently awarded an individual Artist Fellowship from the Alabama Council on the Arts.
   Neel received his bachelor’s degree in sculpture from Birmingham Southern in 1971 and his master’s degree in sculpture from the University of Alabama in 1973. From 1984-1988, Neel worked as a free-lance photojournalist in various countries in Central America reporting conflicts that raged during that period. His photography has appeared in more than 30 newspapers and magazines, including New York Times, The Oxford American, and on ABC’s 20/20, NBC’s Dateline and on the A&E Network. His sculptures have been exhibited at several museums including the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Montgomery Museum of Art and the New Orleans Museum of Art. He has been awarded two Alabama State Council on the Arts Artists Fellowships in Visual Arts.
