   TSU names homecoming court
   Five students have been named to the Troy State University homecoming court for 2003, according to the Student Government Association.
   The homecoming queen was chosen by a vote of the student body on Oct. 9 from among the five finalists. The SGA will announce the homecoming queen selection Thursday, Oct. 16, at 6:30 p.m. during the homecoming pep rally. The five members of the court were chosen from among 32 students in a vote of the students on Oct. 8.
   Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr. and Ashley Fowler of Oneonta, homecoming queen for 2002, will crown this year’s homecoming queen at a pre-game ceremony set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in Troy. The football game with Florida International University is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
   The five finalists are:

   Melanie Bennett of Wadley, a junior marketing major, who is sponsored by her sorority, Chi Omega. She is Chi Omega Personnel Chair, SGA Student Life Chairman and Senator of the year. She is a Chancellor’s scholar and she is also active in Alpha Lambda Delta and Gamma Beta Phi honor societies.

   Chanukah Gray of Montgomery, a junior psychology major, who is sponsored by the SAVE Project. She is a Trojan Ambassador, TSU SAVE Project member, Resident Director of Gardner Hall and a member of Sigma Alpha Sigma, a fraternity for students interested in human services professions.

   Holly Peters of Ozark, a senior broadcast journalism/public relations major, who is sponsored by the National Broadcasting Society. She is a member of Baptist Campus Ministries and the Advertising/Public Relations Society. She is the student news director at TSU-TV and President of the National Broadcasting Society. She is also active in Gamma Beta Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies.

   Amanda Scott of Prattville, a junior accounting major, who is sponsored by the social fraternity Pi Kappa Phi. She is a member of social sorority Alpha Gamma Delta and Alpha Lambda Delta and Delta Sigma Pi honor societies. She is a member of the student government association and Collegiate Legislature.

   Lynsey Williamson of Montgomery, a senior business major, who is sponsored by her social sorority, Chi Omega. She is a member of the TSU golf team, Campus Outreach, Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity and a Trojan Ambassador. She is also a member of Mortar Board, Alpha Lambda Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa honor societies.
