Philharmonic to perform in Troy Oct. 14 The Troy Arts Council is sponsoring a performance of The Polish Philharmonic Resovia on Tuesday, Oct. 14, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the Troy State University campus. Formed in 1955, this Polish orchestra is well known for its regular performances in the Philharmonic Hall in Resovia, the capital of the Podkarpackie Province in southeastern Poland, as well as for appearances at music festivals throughout the world. The orchestra is conducted by Tadeusz Wojciechowski, who has conducted major orchestras in Germany, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and Slovenia. Also appearing will be piano soloist, Leopold Godowsky III, nephew of George Gershwin and grandson of legendary pianist/composer Leopold Godowsky. Tickets prices are $20 for adults and $10 for students. |
