In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Troy State University Symphonic Band will present “A Salute to the Nation’s Veterans” on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of TSU.
The concert will feature a musical selection for each war and conflict in American history, beginning with the Revolutionary War and proceeding to the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The event is free and the public is invited to attend
The concert will begin with “Each Time You Tell Their Story” written by Dr. Samuel J. Hazo and music composed by his son, Samuel R. Hazo.

The concert will conclude with the selections “Armed Forces Salute,” a musical salute to each of the branches of service, and “The Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa, the most popular march ever written.
The Symphonic Band, a concert ensemble of 80 players - most of whom are music majors, is under the baton of Director of Bands Ralph Ford. The Symphony Band has performed at the national conventions of the American Bandmasters Association, the College Band Directors National Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the Women Band Directors International, the Alabama Bandmasters Association and is the featured band at the annual Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic.
