State University’s Hall School of Journalism to Host High
School Workshop The faculty of the Hall School of Journalism at Troy State University will instruct high school students at the annual Southeast Regional High School Journalism Workshop on Thursday, Sept. 18. The workshop is sponsored by the Hall School of Journalism through a grant by the Alabama Press Association. Students and advisers from schools in Alabama, Georgia, and Florida will learn about graphics and desktop publishing, television news and production, photography, sports reporting, news writing, layout and design, advertising, and feature writing from TSU faculty members. Students will have the opportunity to enter student-produced newspapers and videos in the awards contest. Print journalism awards will include an overall winner for both small and large schools. Awards will be given in the following categories: school news coverage, writing, design, and photography. In the video category, an award will be given for the best overall video presentation. The workshop will be in the Trojan Center Ballrooms from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. |
