TSU grad student crowned Miss Mobile Sunday
Amy Phillips-Redclift, a Troy State University graduate student, was crowned Miss Mobile Sunday and will make a return trip to the Miss Alabama Pageant in June.
Miss Phillips-Redclift, a native of San Antonio, Texas, won last year’s Miss Troy State University Pageant as an undergraduate student and was named fourth runner-up at the 2003 Miss Alabama Pageant. As Miss Mobile, the TSU student won a prize package worth $12,000.
For her pageant talent, Miss Phillips-Redclift sang “Time to Say Goodbye.” Her pageant platform is the issue of disability awareness.
Heather Moran of Greenville, a TSU senior and a former Miss Troy State University, was fourth runner-up in the pageant, which was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal School.
Miss Phillips-Redclift received the crown from another TSU alumna, Kelly Hawkins, who was Miss Mobile 2003. Miss Hawkins will also compete in the 2004 Miss Alabama Pageant as Miss Homewood Area.
Miss Phillips-Redclift is a graduate of Smithson Valley High School, and has served as President of Alpha Gamma Delta social sorority and the Pre-Law Society, and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Lambda Delta and Pi Alpha Sigma honor societies. She has also been active in TSU theater productions, with major roles in “Into the Woods,” “Agnes of God” and “A Chorus Line.” She has also performed in high school productions of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” and “The Mikado.”
