Baylor professor awarded first Distinguished Choral Alumni Award
   The Choral Alumni Association of Troy University has named Dr. Randall Bradley its inaugural Distinguished Choral Alumni recipient.
    Dr. Bradley, a native of Uriah, was presented the award recently at the annual banquet of the Choral Alumni Association. Paul McGahie, Director of Choral Activities, presented the award.
    Dr. Bradley is the Professor of Church Music, Director of Church Music Program, and the Center for Christian Music Studies at Baylor University . He also teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in church music and directs the Baylor University Men's Choir. He has served as a leader in many organizations ranging from the American Choral Directors Association to the Oklahoma Choral Directors, where he was the president-elect.
    He is a noted conference leader and has published two books along with multiple musical recordings. Dr. Bradley has lead singing groups that sang for the Southwestern Division American Choral Directors Convention and the Oklahoma Music Educators Convention. He also directed the Oklahoma Baptist University 's Bison Glee Club for six years before going to Baylor.
    Dr. Bradley graduated from Troy State University in 1981 and received his master's and doctoral degrees at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He was a member of Phi Mu Alpha during his collegiate career in Troy .
    Before moving to Texas , Dr. Bradley served as band director and music teacher for the Covington County School System in Florala from 1981-83 and as Minister of Music and Youth at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Georgiana.
    The Choral Alumni Association is open to anyone who participated in the choral department or who are interested in supporting choral music at the University. The opportunity to be a founding member is still available to anyone who joins before May 31. For information, please call 334-670-3324.
