TSU Gospel Choir to present Easter production April 9
“It’s True,” an Easter production featuring the Troy State University Gospel Choir will be presented at 7 p.m., Friday, April 9 in the Claudia Crosby Theater on the TSU campus.
Set in a Christian school’s Bible class, the play follows the struggles between students transferred in from an urban area and their new classmates and teachers. The play was written by TSU freshman Chauncy Glover of Huntsville. The broadcast journalism and public relations major and musical theater minor said while he has written plays for church and local performances, this is his first major production.
“When there school closes, students from an urban school have to be transferred to a new school zone. They learn that the school that they are to attend is a Christian school,” Glover said. “There is a lot of give and take between the students and their new classmates, as well as between the new students and the Bible teacher. There also are some humorous moments in the play.”
Tickets for the production are $7 for adults, $5 for students with a valid TSU identification card and $3 for children 12 years of age and under. For ticket reservations, call (334) 807-5965. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
