Adena Moree , Director of Theatre, directs “She Loves Me.” This is the first time the play has been performed by students at TSU.
Set in a small perfume store, “She Loves Me” is a romantic and touching story of seven unique personalities who work together daily. Against the backdrop of Europe in the 1930s, the characters discover the values of love and life, secret and truth and youth and age alike.
The author of “She Loves Me,” Joe Masteroff, is also the author of the Tony Award-winning musical “Cabaret.”
In 1963, music composer Jerry Bock joined with lyricist Sheldon Harnick to produce the score for “She Loves Me.”  Together they also composed the scores for “Fiorello” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

The original production ran for 302 performances during the 1963-1964 Broadway seasons and earned five Tony Award nominations including one win for Jack Cassidy as featured actor.
A revival 30 years later had almost the same run with 354 performances and nine Tony nominations including one win for lead actor Boyd Gaines.
