Troy University announces new administrative appointments

Troy University Chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., has announced four new administrative appointments as a part of the University’s restructuring initiative. The announcements were made following a national search.

Appointed were: Dr. Hal Fulmer as associate provost; Dr. Earl Ingram as multi-campus dean for the Sorrell College of Business; Dr. Donna Jacobs as multi-campus dean of the College of Education ; and, Dr. Robert Pullen as the multi-campus dean for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Fulmer, who has been at TROY since 2002, has served as dean of the College of Communications and Fine Arts and since January, as interim associate provost.

Dr. Ingram currently serves as assistant dean in the Sorrell College of Business. Coming to TROY in 1987, Dr. Ingram also previously served as a regional director for University College , which administers all Troy University campuses and sites outside of Alabama .

Dr. Jacobs has been employed by Troy University since 1992. Since 2001, she has served as dean of the College of Education on the Troy Campus. Dr. Jacobs previously served as a department chair of curriculum and teaching.

Dr. Pullen has served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences on the Troy Campus since 1997, having previously served as chair of the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology. Dr. Pullen, who has been employed by the University since 1978, was an ACE Fellow in 1994.

Chancellor Hawkins has also announced that Dr. Dianne Barron will now serve as associate provost and dean of the graduate school and professor of education. Dr. Barron has served as dean of graduate studies and research since June 2000, and previously served as director for the Atlantic Region of University College.

The appointments are a part of the University’s restructuring of its campuses as a single institution effective August 2005. Currently, Troy University’s Montgomery and Dothan campuses are separately accredited institutions.

 “I am delighted to have these outstanding individuals assume these new leadership roles in what promises to be an exciting and dynamic future for Troy University ,” Dr. Hawkins said. “These leaders will play vital roles in moving Troy University to a single institution, One Great University , in August 2005.”
