TSU National Association of Black Journalists to host Apollo Night
The Troy State University chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists will sponsor Apollo Night on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The event will be held in the Trojan Center Ballrooms.
The event will be a talent show modeled after the historic “Showtime at the Apollo” and will include competition in song, dance, poetry and musical instruments.
Hot 105.7 disc jockey, Jaye Delai, will be the emcee for the evening. Prizes will be awarded, and proceeds from the event will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
“We're very excited about this event, and we're happy to give students an opportunity to showcase their talents while at the same time celebrating Black History Month and raising money for a good cause,” said Lezlie Griffin, NABJ president.
Tickets for students will be $3 in advance and $5 at the door. Tickets will be available to the general public at the door for $7.
