TSU dean, director of bands named to hall of fame board
A Troy State University administrator and a faculty member have been named to the National Band Association Hall of Fame Board of Directors. Dr. Hal Fulmer, Dean of the College of Communications and Fine Arts, and Ralph W. Ford, Director of Bands, assumed their positions on the board in January.
Troy State University is the home of the National Band Association Hall of Fame, which is located in Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor.
Dr. Fulmer, a native of Albany , Ga. , came to TSU in August of 2002 following a 14-year career at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, where he had served as the Chair of the Department of Communication Arts since 1996.
TSU alumnus Ralph Ford , a native of Panama City , Fla. , has taught at Troy State University for more than 17 years.  He became the director of bands in 2001 and had served as assistant director since 1986.
The two were recommended by John M. Long, longtime director of bands at TSU. Long was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 1996 and is currently serving as the chair of the Hall of Fame Board of Directors.
