Andalusia native Ryan Spry elected SGA president at TSU
   

Ryan Spry of Andalusia was elected Student Government Association president at Troy State University Wednesday, Feb. 25.
    Spry defeated Mary Lee Caldwell of Roanoke . Spry received 417 votes, while Caldwell received 263 votes.
    Spry is a junior majoring in human resources management. As SGA president, he plans to break down the barrier between the SGA and the students, hold town hall meetings twice a semester and work as a liaison between the students and the board of trustees.
    “What I really want to do is unify the campus,” Spry told the Tropolitan, TSU's student newspaper. “I want to tear down the barriers between different students such as independents and Greeks.” He said the slogan of his campaign, “One Great Student Body,” will be the heart of his presidency.
    Spry will serve as SGA president through spring semester 2005.
    Other officers elected were:

  • Vice-president of legislative affairs: Jennings Shepherd of Dothan;
  • Vice-president of campus activities: Jessica Sparacino of Alabaster;
  • Secretary: Allison Baulch of Prattville ; and
  • Clerk: Mary Frances Agnew of Perry , Ga.
