On Super Bowl Sunday, battles will be waged on stage at
Troy State University as well as on the football field in Houston .
On Sunday, Feb. 1, at 2:30 p.m. , TSU theater students will perform “Antigone” in
the Trojan Center Theatre.
The event will serve as a fundraiser for the Department of
Speech and Theatre's February trip to the regional competition of the Kennedy
Center American College Theatre Festival held at the University of Alabama at
Birmingham .
This is the second consecutive trip to the regional competition
by TSU students.
“Our benefit performance of ‘Antigone' will be
a great opportunity to enjoy an excellent production of a classic story and to
provide support for our cast and faculty in the regional ACTF activities in Birmingham
,” said Dr. Hal Fulmer, Dean of the College of Communication and Fine Arts. “‘Antigone'
is the perfect way to spend Sunday afternoon before the Super Bowl. Come and
see the Greeks battle before you watch the Patriots and Panthers.”
All tickets may be purchased for $10
for the public and $5 for TSU students, faculty and staff. Tickets
are available at the TSU Box Office and at the door.
“Antigone” will also be presented on Wednesday,
Jan. 29, at 6:30 p.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre. Tickets will be $5 for the
general public and free to all TSU students, faculty and staff.
