More events to accompany the Drum Corps on Julu 14

   On July 14, nine drum corps will compete in the Trojan Summer Music Games, benefiting the “Sound of the South” marching band of Troy University . The games, which are part of Drum Corps International’s summer tour, will begin at 7 p.m. at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
   The corps’ scheduled to play are: The Blue Devils from Concord , Calif. , The Boston Crusaders from Boston , Mass. , The Magic of Orlando from Orlando , Fla. , The Blue Knights from Denver , Colo. , The Glassmen from Toledo, Ohio, The Court of Honor from Atlanta, Ga., The Memphis Sound from Memphis, Tenn., Teal Sound from Jacksonville, Fla. and Southwind from Lexington, Ky.
   Along with the entertainment of the corps, concessions will be sold at the stadium by the Troy University band and music fraternities and Charles Henderson High School Band parents and students.
   There also will be a Troy University Band Alumni tent sponsored by the Troy University Alumni Affairs Office on the stadium courtyard. Tau Beta Sigma, Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha and Sigma Alpha Iota band and music fraternities and sororities will be represented as well.
   Several of the drum corps will be staying and rehearsing on the Troy University campus. All rehearsals are open to the public.
