Artist Russell Everett to display art in Malone Hall at Troy University
   Everett through Aug. 14. A reception for the artist is scheduled for July 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Malone Gallery.
   There is no admission charge to view the exhibit or attend the artist’s reception.
    Everett will be displaying and selling drawings, watercolors and soapstone sculptures/vessels for the duration of the exhibit.
   “This exhibit is certain to offer something for everyone,” Jerry Johnson, Chair of the Department of Art and Design, said. “His drawings are extremely provocative, his watercolors are rich and vibrant and his soapstone vessels are breathtakingly beautiful.”
   Johnson added, “As the show was being set up, Mr. Everett sold three or four of these pieces before we could get them onto the pedestals.”
    Everett has also worked with the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind for more than three years.  He is a full-time artist and an adjunct professor at Troy University , Montgomery Campus and Auburn University in Montgomery where he teaches art appreciation.
    Everett has received of several awards including the Merit Award from the 63rd Annual Open Exhibition, Northwest Watercolor Society in Seattle and first place at the Auburn University Montgomery- Nursing School Nightingale Exhibition.
