Troy University to hold tuition increase to 9 percent for 2004-2005 year
Troy University officials announced today that the Board of Trustees has approved a tuition increase of 9 percent for fall semester 2004.
The University resolution recommending the board action attributed the need for a tuition increase to partially offset the effects of state funding for 2004-2005, as Troy University received only a slight increase in its legislative appropriation.
The move increases undergraduate tuition for a full-time student taking 12-16 semester hours from $1,765 to $1,925. This tuition schedule will apply to students at campuses in Troy , Dothan , Montgomery and Phenix City .
University officials said the 9 percent increase is in line with increases of 9 to 15 percent either approved or under consideration by other Alabama public universities .
