March 29, 2004 Alabama State Treasurer to Speak at Troy State University Alabama State Treasurer Kay Ivey will be the guest speaker at the annual Troy State University Women’s History Month celebration. Ivey will speak about women in government at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 in the Trojan Center Ballroom. The event is open to all TSU students and the public. A reception will be held in the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor before the event in honor of Ivey and students Chanukah Gray, Meagan Flowers, Wini Morgan and Jennifer Lynch, winners of TSU’s Outstanding Female Leadership Award. “The SGA executive officers asked Treasurer Kay Ivey to speak in part due to her enthusiasm and dedication to college students,” said Mary Lee Caldwell, SGA Vice President of Legislative Affairs. “She has been a strong supporter of Troy State University.” Ivey
was sworn in as the 38th Treasurer of Alabama on Jan.
28, 2003. A native of Camden, she is a 1967 graduate of Auburn University. She
now resides in Montgomery. |
