Melanie Bennett named Homecoming Queen at Troy University

Melanie Bennett, a senior from Wadley, has been selected as the 2004 Homecoming queen at Troy University .

Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Bennett, was elected by a vote of the student body, and the announcement was made Thursday night during a pep rally at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.

Bennett is majoring in psychology and is president of Chi Omega sorority and is a member of Gamma Bet Phi, Mortar Board and Order of Omega honor societies. She is a Chancellor’s scholar and active with campus outreach.

The queen will be crowned during a ceremony at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium at 2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the Trojans Homecoming game against Florida Atlantic University .
