names homecoming court |
Five
students have been named to the
Troy
University
homecoming
court for 2004, according to the Student Government Association.
The homecoming court
was chosen by a vote of the student body and the homecoming queen will be announced
during a pep rally on Nov. 4 beginning at
6:30 p.m.
at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
The queen will be crowned in ceremonies prior to the homecoming game scheduled
for Saturday, Nov. 6, against Florida Atlantic. The ceremony is scheduled for
2
p.m.
and kickoff is set for
2:30 p.m.
The five finalists
are:
Melanie Bennett,
a native of Wadley, is a senior marketing major. She is president of Chi Omega
sorority and a member of Gamma Beta Phi, Mortar Board and Order of Omega honor
societies. She is a Chancellor’s scholar and active with campus outreach.
Chanukah Gray,
a native of
Montgomery
,
is a senior psychology major. She is president of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority
and a Trojan Ambassador. She is resident director of Gardner Hall and student
direct of the Troy University IMPACT program. Gray was recently named the 2004-2005
Miss Black Alabama,
USA
.
Lindsay Johnson,
a native of Luverne, is a junior broadcast journalism major. She is a member
of Phi Mu sorority, the National Broadcasting Society, College Republicans and
Alpha Lambda Delta honor society. Johnson is President Pro Tempore, Academic
Life Co-Chair and Chaplain of the Student Government Association, a 2004 recruitment
counselor and active with campus outreach.
Erica Parker,
a native of Thorsby, is a sophomore nursing major. She is activities coordinator
of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Parker is also involved with intramural sports
and is the 2004 Farmhouse fraternity sweetheart.
Holly Yeargan,
a native of Clanton, is a junior marketing major. She is Trojan Ambassador President
and has served as Freshman Forum vice president and director. Yeargan is a Hugh
G. Rose scholarship recipient. She has served as pledge class president, ritual
coordinator, personal development council, homecoming director and vice president
of operations for Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Yeargan is a member of the Order
of Omega honor society, SIFE, the marketing club and GECE council.
