Avington Hart was crowned Miss Troy University Sunday afternoon at the 34^th annual Miss Troy University pageant to earn the right to represent the University in the Miss Alabama Pageant.
   Miss Hart, a junior from Evergreen, is the daughter of Bill and Ruth Hart.  A junior majoring in history, Miss Hart is a graduate of Hillcrest High School . She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
   Miss Hart was crowned by Erin Turner of Birmingham , Miss Troy University 2004, and Student Government Association President Ryan Spry of Andalusia . Contestants competed in talent, swimsuit, interview, evening wear and on-stage question.
   

• Other members of the top five were:
  First runner-up Tara Golson of Montgomery , who also received the People’s Choice Award. Miss Golson, the daughter of William and Kathy Golson, is a junior majoring in communication arts;
• Second runner-up Amber Lynn Dodson of Cullman, the daughter of Greg and Lisa Dodson.  She is a sophomore at Troy University majoring in nursing;
• Third runner-up Mary Ann Henderson of Troy . Miss Henderson is the daughter of Kurt and Joan Henderson and is a graduate student at Troy University pursuing a master’s degree in public administration;
• Fourth runner-up Laura McDonald of Prattville , the daughter of Bubba and Gail McDonald.  She is a sophomore majoring in biology.  Miss McDonald was the winner in the swimsuit competition.
