Troy University to play host to panel discussion on 'war on terror'

The International Relations master’s program at Troy University will play host to the moderated  panel discussion, “America’s Global War on Terror: Three Years On,” Thursday, Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. The event will be held in the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor on the Troy Campus.

The event is part of the nationwide discussion series, “The People Speak: America ’s Role in the World” and is funded at Troy University through a grant from the United Nations Foundation.

“The People Speak” was launched in October 2003 to raise the level of national dialogue about America ’s role in the world. Made possible by a nonpartisan coalition of non-profit organizations, the project held 2,200 community events and 13 “marquee” events across the country last year in an effort to foster discussion on critical global issues.

Speakers for the event include: Col. Tom Leney (ret.) of the United Nations Foundation, Washington ,  D.C. ; Dr. James Winkates, Air University , Maxwell Air Force Base; and Dr. Steven Taylor and Dr. James Rinehart, who teach in the graduate international relations program at Troy University .
