Troy University to dedicate new Alumni House on Saturday, Oct. 2

   Troy University will formally dedicate its new Alumni House, located on the corner of George Wallace Drive and Highland Avenue across from Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium, on Saturday, Oct. 2 at 12:30 p.m.
   Speakers scheduled for the ceremony include Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr., Sammy Carr, president of the Troy University National Alumni Association, Dr. Cameron Martindale, senior vice chancellor of advancement and external Relations, and Faith Ward, Director of Alumni Affairs.
   The prayer of dedication will be given by Harrell McKinney, chair of the Troy State University Foundation’s Board of Trustees and one of the driving forces behind the effort.
   Renovations, which included turning the bedrooms into offices for alumni affairs personnel, new shutters and paint on the exterior of the residence and a parking lot, were completed over the summer thanks to private donations and in-kind gifts.
   “Our Alumni House will help serve the alumni in any possible way,” Ward said. “We are very pleased and excited about having a place to better serve our alumni when they visit the Troy Campus.”
