Band Day at Troy University scheduled for October 2

Troy University ’s “Sound of the South” Marching Band will perform with bands from 28 high schools and one middle school Saturday, Oct. 2, for its halftime performance at the Utah State University football game.

The show will be the culmination of the band program’s sixth annual Band Day.  More than 1,500 musicians will take the field to perform “My Home’s in Alabama ” and “Celebration,” as well as the Trojans’ fight song.

The game is scheduled to start at 2:30 p.m. at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium in Troy .  For tickets call 1-877-878-9467.

Bands scheduled to participate are Brantley High School, Clarke County High School, Cordova High School, Cottondale High School (Fla.), Cullman High School, Dale County High School, Elmore County High School, Escambia County High School, Everett Middle School (Fla.), Frisco City High School, Geneva High School, Goshen High School, Graceville High School, Headland High School, Houston Academy, Luverne High School, Miller High School, Monroe County High School, New Brockton High School, Notasulga High School, Prattville High School, Red Level School, Reeltown Jr./Sr. High School, S. Walton High School (Fla.), Samson High School, Slocomb High School, Sneads High School, Tarrant High School, and West End High School.
