Troy University , Phenix City Campus student receives scholarship

Terry Anne Elmore, a student at Troy University , Phenix City Campus, has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association (NERA).

The NERA is an association that represents enlisted Sea Service Reservists to Congress, the White House and the Departments of Defense and Transportation. Elmore’s husband, David, is a member of the Blue Angels and is stationed in Florida training with the U.S. Navy Reserve. NERA annually awards six scholarships, valued at $15,000 to members of the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard reserves and/or their dependents or grandchildren. These scholarships are sponsored by NERA and USAA to recognize the contributions of these branches of the armed forces and their families to the readiness of the fighting forces of the United States .

Elmore was selected out of 60 applicants to receive one of the six scholarships. She is currently enrolled at Troy University , Phenix City full-time pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
