Troy University will play host to more than 45 middle and high school bands as part of the 2005 Alabama Bandmasters Association District VIII Band Festival Feb. 15-17.
The event is expected to bring more than 3,500 students and band directors from across south Alabama to the three-day event. The event will provide bands an unbiased judgment on performance.

Adjudicators for the event are Robert Bean of Wallace Community College, David Cadle of Crestview High School, Crestview Fla., David Riggs of Avalon Middle School, Pace Fla., and Tony Whetson, Troy University Dothan Community Band.
Bands receiving a superior rating during the festival will advance onto the state competition in March.
