Troy University ’s Malone Gallery to host Troy City Schools art exhibit

Several hundred pieces of art, ranging from drawings and paintings to photography and graphic design, will line the walls of Troy University’s Malone Gallery Feb. 21-25, as the gallery hosts an exhibit of artwork by students of Troy City Schools.

Pam Smith, an art teacher at Charles Henderson High School, said the exhibit will include a variety of works from all age levels- elementary, middle and high school students.

“I think it is very beneficial for our students to have their artwork on display in an exhibit such as this,” Smith said. “I also believe it is very important for the community to have the opportunity to view the work of our students and get a sense for how talented they are.”

The Malone Gallery is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A special opening reception for parents and students will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 22. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
