CIS Colloquium on Information Technology set for Feb. 7-8
    Troy Universitys Montgomery Campus will host the sixth annual Computer Information Sciences Colloquium of Information Technology on Feb. 7-8, at the Rosa Parks Library and Museum Auditorium. The museum is located at 252 Montgomery Street, in downtown Montgomery. This year’s colloquium will feature Dr. C.V. Ramamoorthy, professor emeritus of the Computer Science Division at the University of California, Berkley. Professor Ramamoorthy holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics and computer science from Harvard University and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and applied mathematics and computer science also from Harvard. The author of more than 200 journal papers, Ramamoorthy has co-written three books and serves as supervisor to 79 doctoral students. He has also been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Instituteof Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Centennial and Millennium medals in 2000 and The Computer Society’s 2000 Tsutomu Kanai Award.The Monday night session, scheduled from Hour="17" Minute="30">5:30 to 6:30 p.m., is geared to a student audience and will cover the topic, “Quality Concerns in Software Supported Systems- Modeling Approach.” The Tuesday session, “Quality Concerns in Software Supported Systems- Business Approach,” will be presented from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to the local information technology industry, the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce and the interested members of the community. The colloquium, sponsored by TROY-Montgomery’s Department of Computer and Information Science, the College of Artsand Sciences and the Graduate School, is free and open to the public.
