TROY -- Troy University will host the ninth annual state SGA leadership conference on July 8-9.

The theme of this year’s conference will be “Communication—Key to Leadership.”

Student Government Association officers from universities throughout the state will attend the conference to polish their skills for the coming year.

Students leaders will discuss their goals for the upcoming year and listen to guest speakers while networking with other student leaders from across the state.

Guest speakers at this year’s conference include TROY Chancellor Jack Hawkins, Jr.;

Johnny Tooson, SGA Advisor for UAB; Dr. John A. Kline, director of  TROY’s Institute for Leadership Development; Mr. Lamar P. Higgins, lobbyist for Fine, Geddie & Associates; Dr. James Vickery, chair of TROY’s Department of Speech and Theatre and Sandra Gouge, TROY’s Associate Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communication.  

Guest speakers will cover topics such as “Leadership and Vision,” “Listening and Leadership” and “Communication and Leadership.”
