July 14, 2005 Gilbert named director of student health
She succeeds Becky Norsworthy, who retired in June after 25 years with the University. Gilbert has been employed by the health center since 1992.
As director, Gilbert will be the day-to-day supervisor of the health center which employees a consulting physician, a nurse practitioner, a licensed practical nurse and two staff members. The health center sees more than 5,000 students annually.
“Dimple possesses the nursing expertise, compassion, vision, and administrative skill to excel as director of student health services. She is committed to providing quality patient care and views health education as a priority of Student Health Services,” said Susan Pierce, director of student development and counseling. “We are very pleased that Dimple will be moving into a supervisory role within the health center and will work to continue to provide this valuable service to our students.”
