Troy--   Four Troy University musicians were selected to participate in the National Intercollegiate Band in Lexington , Ky. July 24-26.

This event is sponsored by the national honorary band fraternity KKPsi and Tau Beta Sigma, the national honorary band sorority and is designed to bring musicians from across the country “face-to-baton with some of the most dynamically stimulating composers and respected conductors in America .”

This year’s ensemble will be conducted by Professor Michael Haithcock from the University of Michigan . They will perform the world premier of Philip Sparke’s “The Seasons.”

Attendees from Troy University will be Rodney Linebarger, bassoon, from Hazlehurst , Ga. ; Hayley Canterbeury, bassoon, from Flomaton; Melissa White, French horn, from Telfair, Ga.; and Tony Hawthorne, tenor saxophone, from Dothan. 

The participants will perform a concert at the culmination of the event on July 26 at 8 p.m. at the Lexington Opera House.
