TROY —The Troy University Jazz Band has scheduled its spring tour to begin Monday, March 21, according to Ralph Ford, director of bands.

            The Jazz Band will spend three days in northwest Florida performing at area high schools. Ford said high school students who are members of jazz ensembles will sit in with the TROY musicians.

            “These tours are effective recruiting tools for our band program,” Ford said. “We need to make sure that band directors and students understand that our University has a comprehensive band program. We have been successful over the years promoting the fact that we offer a large university band program in a small university setting.”

            Jazz band performances are:

• Monday, March 21, 1 p.m. at Mosley High School in Panama City ;
• Tuesday, March 22,  8:30 a.m. at Bay High School , Panama City;
• Tuesday, March 22, 1:30 p.m. at Surfside Middle School; and
• Wednesday, March 23, 10 a.m. at Crestview High School .
