– Journalists at
Troy
University
will consider “Money, Politics and the Media” during an annual symposium.
The University’s Hall School of Journalism will host its M. Stanton Evans Symposium at 10 a.m. April 7 in the Claudia Crosby Theater. It’s the first year the annual spring symposium will carry Evan’s name.
Evans, adjunct professor for the Hall School of Journalism since 1980, graduated from
Yale
University
with an English degree. He has held many prestigious positions in the journalism industry including editor of the Indianapolis News for 15 years, director of the National Journalism Center columnist of the Los Angeles Times, and national commentator for CBS Radio News and National Public Radio. He is also the author of eight books, the last being “The Theme is Freedom.”
Evans will be the symposium’s keynote speaker.
Troy
broadcast journalist Ralph Black will moderate a question-and-answer session.
Black, former adjunct professor for the Hall School of Journalism is an on-air personality for WTBF and WTSU. He currently does all the play-by-play announcements for WTBF and also a member of the Troy Community Band.
