—Work of the artist Nall, a former artist-in-residence at
Troy
University
, will be featured in three upcoming events in
New York City
.
The exhibits are a celebration of
Alabama
’s art, literature, music and cuisine presented as a collaborative effort of The National Arts Club and The New Water Street Corporation.
Nall served as the University’s artist-in-residence for 2000-2001, maintaining a studio on the Troy Campus, working with student apprentices and serving as a guest lecturer. He was honored by
Troy
University
with an honorary doctorate degree in May 2001.
The opening reception for “A Nall Retrospective: Landscapes, portraits and flowers” will held at The National Arts Club on April 12 at 6 p.m. The exhibit will be on display from April 9 through May 8. The opening will be followed at 8 p.m. by a recital of “Girl from the Golden West,” by Giacomo Puccini. Nall has created costumes and sets for this opera which will open the Puccini Festival on July 22 in Torre

.
The New Water Street Corporation, the owners of
55 Water Street
, will present “Alabama Art at
55 Water Street
” at 6 p.m. on April 13. The exhibit will feature 15
Alabama
artists, including “Mose T,” Charlie Lucas and Kathryn Tucker Windham. Nall worked with each artist to render their individual portrait to be included in the exhibit. The works will be available for view by appointment or invitation, April 12 through May 8.

, along with the Retirement Systems of Alabama, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama Department of Tourism and the Nall Foundation, among others.
