Troy
University Opera Ensemble will present Mozart’s lighthearted Cosi fan tutte sung in English on March 31 and April 2. Both performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Claudia Crosby Theater.
The opera will be presented in one act full of fun, frivolity, outlandish costumes and beautiful singing. Cosi fan tutte is a comic masterpiece dealing with the universal themes of love and trust.
Two young men recklessly wager a small fortune that their girlfriends will remain faithful; and then the fun begins. The men disguise themselves as fascinating foreigners and use their best moves on each other’s partner. To their shock, their shameless, high-pressure campaign of charm and trickery works, and the women ultimately give in. Through this elaborate game, the lovers gain valuable insights into the value of forgiveness, the elusiveness of love and the complexities of human nature.
Admission is free and the open to the public. For more information contact Dr. Catherine Allard, director of the TROY Opera Ensemble at 334-670-3322.
