DOTHAN, Ala. – Troy University’s Continuing Education Center on the Dothan Campus will hold a one-day seminar for first-time managers on Thursday, March 31. The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second floor of Adams Hall on the Dothan Campus.
The seminar, “Excelling as a First-time Manager or Supervisor,” will be led by David C. Jamison and will cover the topics of stress management, time management, strategic thinking for managers, leadership assessment and interpretation, quality management and the Collaboration Model.
Jamison is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and Yale University. He has served in policy-making positions with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under three presidents, heading the Office of Public/Private Partnerships under President Jimmy Carter.
Jamison also served in the White House Office of Private Sector Initiatives under President Ronald Reagan and helped to found a co-curricular venture called the Young Astronaut Program to promote math and science interest in elementary grades.
Prior to moving to Dothan, Jamison founded and served as a counselor at the ServantCare Wholeness Center, a faith-centered counseling and training practice offering a variety of seminars and workshops.
