Troy University's Baptist Campus Ministries to aid tsunami victims with carnival

TROY , Ala. The Baptist Campus Ministries (BCM) at Troy University is seeking participants for its “Carnival of Care” to benefit tsunami victims. The event, which will take place next to Trojan Arena on the Troy Campus, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 12 in conjunction with the University’s Irish Week activities.

The carnival will feature various games and activities for children, in addition to a bake sale and silent auction, according to Karen Butler, an organizer of the event. Booth space is available for $15, and items for use in the bake sale and silent auction also are being sought. Appropriate booths would feature any family-oriented games and activities or homemade or organizational items for sale.

Admission to the carnival is free. All proceeds coming from the rental of booth space or the sale of bake sale and silent auction items will be given through the International Mission Board with 100 percent of the donation going directly to assist victims of the tsunami. More information about the International Mission Board is available through its web site at www.imb.org.
