Concert scheduled for Nov. 7
   

TROY--  Troy University Opera Ensemble, Women’s Madrigal Singers and Chamber Choir will join voices for an evening of arias, duets, trios and much more on Nov. 7.

The Opera Ensemble, directed by Dr. Catherine Allard  and accompanied by Dr. John Jinright, will perform excerpts from Porgy and Bess, The Mikado and Patience, along with arias from The Medium, Faust, I Pagliacci, The Elixir of Love, Dido and Aneas, The Marriage of Figaro, Die Fledermaus, Tartuffe and The Magic Flute.

The concert, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., will be held in the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor on the Troy Campus. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

Featured singers for the night will be Laura Aaron of Bay Minette, Tommy Cargill of Montgomery, Terrance Cobb of Troy, Hilary Eisman of Hackensack, N.J., Joan Hazel of Troy, April Jacobs of Phenix City, Adrian Smith of Montgomery, Jessica Smith of Tallassee, Darius Stubbs of Enterprise and Yao Wu of Troy.

“There’s something for everyone at this concert.  Don’t miss it,” said Dr. Allard.
