TROY – Troy University Director of Financial Aid Carol Supri has received an award from a national finance company for her efforts in training the company’s staff on TROY processes.
She was recognized as NelNet’s Fall 2005 Full Circle Award winner for her training efforts.
Supri, nominated by former Call Center supervisor Jill Derryberry, received the award after training Nelnet’s Indiana call center staff on TROY’s financial aid inquiry system. The Full Circle Award was created to highlight professional excellence of financial aid officers around the country.
“I basically trained them on being the front-end contact with our students and trained them on our database,” Supri said. “When a TROY student calls with an inquiry about their financial aid, that call is answered in Indiana as ‘Troy University’,” she said.
Supri said the call center handles about 15,000 call per month.
Nelnet is one of the leading education finance companies in the United States and is focused on providing quality products and services to students and schools nationwide. Nelnet ranks among the nation’s leaders in terms of total net student loan assets with $16.4 billion as of September 30, 2005. Headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nelnet originates, consolidates, securitizes, holds, and services student loans, principally loans originated under the Federal Family Education Loan Program of the U.S. Department of Education.
"Financial aid directors such as Carol Supri have dedicated their time and energy over the course of many years to the cause of helping students meet their educational goals, providing them with financial assistance and guidance. Nelnet is please and honored to award Mrs. Supri for her outstanding dedication and commitment to students and parents," said Scott Spethman, managing director of Nelnet Campus Solutions.
Supri was recognized at a luncheon and presented a crystal plaque.
