TROY UNIVERSITY TO HOST BUS-BOYCOTT BOOK RELEASE

Montgomery, AL – Troy University will host a reading and book signing for Donnie Williams and Wayne Greenhaw, authors of The Thunder of Angels:  The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the People Who Broke the Back of Jim Crow on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at 7 p.m. in the Rosa Parks Library and Museum Auditorium at 251 Montgomery Street .

Published by the Chicago Review Press, The Thunder of Angels chronicles the history of the Bus Boycott, with particular emphasis on E. D. Nixon (1899-1987), the Montgomery Voters League president, Alabama State NAACP leader, and the Montgomery Improvement Association co-founder whose role in the boycotts has been overshadowed by that of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Rosa Parks. Recently described as “compelling and brilliantly accomplished” in a Library Journal review, The Thunder of Angels is an important addition to the histories of the Bus Boycott, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2005-06.
