Czech Chamber Orchestra to perform at Troy University

TROY — The Troy Arts Council is sponsoring the Czech Chamber Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in Claudia Crosby Theatre.

The chamber orchestra is from the Moravian region of the Czech Republic and is making its debut in North America this fall.  The orchestra is collaborating with renowned pianist Michiko Otaki. 

“This is a new orchestra that will provide a great night of wonderful entertainment," said Shelia Jackson, a spokesperson for the Arts Council.

Jackson said that a reception prior to the concert at 6 p.m. in Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor was open to the public.

The orchestra is composed of young players and experienced members, creating musical maturity with youthful enthusiasm.
