Homecoming week full of campus events

TROY Trojans will be dancing to the homecoming tune Oct. 31 when 2005 Troy University Homecoming kicks off with the Trojan Stomp/Dance Competition and SuperFan Competition at 7 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theatre.

This year’s homecoming theme is “Gridiron Glory” and “we are taking it back to the basics,” said Joe Hutto, SGA’s vice president for campus activities.

Homecoming activities will be conducted throughout the week and will include such events as a campus wide clean, a banner competition, a pep-rally and a parade, said  Melodye Redding, homecoming director.

On Nov. 1 a grill out will be held on the Quad from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m, and the Troy Gospel Singers will present a concert at 7 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theatre.

On Nov. 2, skit night will be held at 7 p.m. in Claudia Crosby Theatre.

On Nov. 4, a pep rally will begin at 6 p.m. in Movie Gallery Veterans Memorial Stadium, followed at 7 p.m. by a concert featuring Phil Vassar.

The annual homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. and process through downtown Troy .

“All of this will be followed by the homecoming football game against the Florida Atlantic Owls in Movie Gallery Veterans Memorial Stadium at 2:30 p.m,” Hutto said.
