Troy University to host free self-defense class

Troy
University
will host a free Rape Prevention & Awareness class Monday, October 17, on the Dothan Campus. The two-hour self-defense course, which is designed for females age 12 and older, will begin at 2 p.m. in the Harrison Room in Malone Hall.
Midland City Police Officer and Martial Arts Instructor James Isler will share simple survival techniques from the Reactionary Engagement and Counter Tactics Training (R.E.A.C.T.T.) System. “We want to get rid of the hesitation and teach the warrior mindset,” Isler said. “They will learn to react and engage a threat.”
