Troy University's Miss Shamrock Pageant set for March 2

TROY, Ala. – Thirty-six contestants will compete for the title of Troy University’s Miss Shamrock on Thursday night. The pageant, which is in its sixth year, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Trojan Center Theatre on the Troy Campus.

Organizations, individuals, businesses and families are encouraged to sponsor contestants.  Contestants will be judged by on-stage evening wear and modeling.

Brenda Campbell, director of graduate admissions, said this year’s event exceeded expectations in terms of participation.

“This is the first year that the Miss Shamrock Pageant has been open to ladies who attend all of TROY’s Alabama sites and we are excited about the opportunity to meet outstanding young ladies within the Troy University family.”

The winner of the Miss Shamrock Pageant will receive a $150 book scholarship, crown and banner.  She will also be featured in the University’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 11. The first alternate will receive a $100 book scholarship and the second alternate will receive a $50 book scholarship. The scholarships are sponsored by the Troy University National Alumni Association.

The event is open to the public and admission is $1.
