DOTHAN – Learn to lower your cancer risk by changing your eating habits. The Troy University Continuing Education Center will hold a Cancer Prevention workshop August 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Dothan Campus.
Every year, approximately 700,000 Americans die of cancer. A recent study indicates obesity, poor nutrition and lack of physical activity contribute to as many as one-third of the cancer cases in this country. During the seminar, Dr. Habiba Shaw, a nutrition and health education specialist, will share information about foods which may help lower your risk.
The one-day course is designed for nurses (RN/LPN), social workers, dietary personnel, extension agents, caregivers, health educators, pharmacists and anyone interested in learning more about cancer. Participants will qualify for healthcare CEU’s.
For more information or to register, contact the Troy University Continuing Education Center at (334) 983-0005.
