MEDIA ADVISORY People's Republic of China delegation to visit TROY
   

Chinese 1-2-1 Delegation Visit

Nov. 15: Higher education officials from the People’s Republic of China will be on the Troy Campus for the 1-2-1 Sino-American Dual Degree Program’s convocation. During this visit, the Chinese delegation will hold talks with University officials regarding educational opportunities between the two nations. The convocation will begin at 10 a.m. at the Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor and last about one hour. An media availability with Chancellor Hawkins and the delegation leadership will be immediately prior to the Convocation. Media are requested to be in place at HAL Hall by 9:45 a.m. in order to take advantage of this opportunity.

Extended Learning Center

Nov. 16: An open house will be conducted at TROY’s new Extended Learning Center from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. at 1101 South Brundidge St. in Troy. A ribbon- cutting ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. Chancellor Hawkins and Vice Chancellor for University College Dr. Earl Ingram will participate. A Pike County Chamber of Commerce “Business After Hours” will take place between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. as well. The Extended Learning Center is the new home of TROY’s eCampus, the ACCESS program and AMSTI program.

Salute to Veterans

Nov. 18: Salute to Veterans. The University will honor veterans of the Armed Services during the TROY – Arkansas State football game.  More than 2,000 active-duty personnel from Fort Rucker and Maxwell Air Force Base will be special guests of the University that day and Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium’s video message board will feature photographs, videotape and information regarding Trojans currently serving in the military. A tribute to veterans is scheduled for halftime, including a special performance by the Sound of the South Marching Band. Active-duty personnel and veterans in the audience will be asked to stand while the song representing their branch is played.
