Honors concert to showcase TROY students

TROY, AL. – Seven TROY students will perform at the Troy University Fall Honors Recital at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 in Hawkins-Adams-Long Hall of Honor.

James Zingara, an associate professor of music at TROY, said the performers selected for the concert were first recommended by their private instructors and then had to win an audition before a panel of Troy University music faculty.

“This is a biennial formal concert to feature outstanding individual performers,” Zingara said.

Participants in the recital are Daniel Arute on trumpet, a sophomore music education major from Dothan; Josh Battè on the euphonium, a sophomore general music major from Panama City; Allison Conlan on flute, a freshman biology major from Leesburg, Ga.; Shanna Forbes singing soprano, a graduate choral music education major from Greenville, Fla.; April Jacobs singing soprano, a senior music education major from Smiths Station; LaShea Money singing mezzo-soprano, a general music major from Troy; and David Samuel on trumpet, a senior music education major from Pensacola.
